summer woes & the perfect solution
It's been a while....
a very long while....
since I have strutted what my mother (and plump grandmother), gave me in a swimming suit.
(You know where this is going).
As the baby slept today, I sat out in the hot sun watching the other 2 kiddos play in their 4 foot wide imitation swimming pool filled with mud. I was melting. So, I glanced across the fields to the neighbors. It looked like no one was home. Perfect.
Inside the house, I dug through my unorganized, drawers and found the bit of fabric that was, a baby later, still supposed to cover everything I wanted covered. Riiiiiiight.
Slipping in to it......scratch that ......stuffing my glorious self in to it, I then spent 20 lazy minutes on my back patio. That was long enough- definitely easing myself in to a little post baby skin exposure.
Anyhow, to make what I could turn in to a very long depressing post, a little shorter: I needed something to cheer myself up. SO, I am announcing, the best ever give-aways from the Ponytail Challenge are coming next week.
I am so excited that it is borderline ridiculous how excited I am. If you check back on this blog on no other day in your life, I suggest checking back on Tuesday.
And, if you didn't pick up on it already, I said give-aways, plural.

I know exactly how you feel. Since losing weight these past few months, a while ago I thought it would be the perfect time to buy myself a new swimsuit to show off how great I look.
ReplyDeleteAfter three stores and about 15 suits, I finally gave up.
Maybe I'll go swimming next year.
Anyway, I'm excited for those giveaways! I love giveaways, they're a perfect pick-me-up!
CAN'T WAIT!!!
ReplyDeleteGot to love swimming suits!!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I've been MIA from this site since the first challenge to keep my hair out of a pony tail. But I had to comment that this was THE perfect post for me to come back to! *sigh* Swimsuits are brutal.
ReplyDeletePick me! Pick me!
ReplyDeleteohhh thed swimsuits! just count yourself lucky you have a swimsuit you could still stuff yourself into! i still have a suit from my premarital days...i don't know WHY...just to depress me. but the last time i had gone swimming was when i was about 6 months pregnant with my now almost 6 YEAR old. and now 2 additional pregnancies later and not to mention an additional 60 lbs heavier...i finally found myself buying a swimsuit!! i was not impressed that i had to find it in an entirely different section than i had previously been able to occupy. *sigh* such is life
ReplyDeletesummers have to come don't they??
you have no idea how close to home you hit with me! LOL I am soooo excited! And yes I too despise the swimsuit ritual. I was thinking of telling people I have a water allergy but somehow I don't think they would buy it.. oh well. Just so you know my baby didn't hardly sleep at all last night which today left me as a living zombie Im sad to say. But your post put a smile my face (as always) so thank you!
