CHALLENGE.......the one, the original

Every so often, there is a week where life just gets very, very busy. There are extra errands to run, a trip to get ready for, the final days of preparation to major projects. Throw in a sick kid or two, and -whamo- there isn't a whole lot of time left for me..... or, I am guessing, you.
Today's errands? Drop off/pick up son at pre school, go to bank, edit a bunch of photos- of other people's families, drive to town to print out photos, do a "favor" for a friend, take kids to their gymnastics class, on and on.......
Oh- and one more little thing- we decided yesterday that we are putting our house up for sale next week....oh, and put a bid on a different house..... nothing to major, right?.....nothing to stress about......did I mention I have to go to the bank?....aaaack!
In the midst of all of this, I am of course, blogging, because, of course, I have nothing better to do, but it is good to take a quick little escape, a quick little moment to re-vamp. As I stare down at my thrown together clothes, brush back the unkempt hair from my face, this week's challenge is all to clear:

CHALLENGE........the one, the original

Ponytail Challenge

Fix your hair everyday this week. Whatever your "fall back on hair style" of choice is, you can't do it this week. Spend a few extra moments on you. Make yourself feel a little extra worth it. Even if you are just scrubbing toilets and folding laundry, you will feel better about yourself.

As for me, I actually do my best work and accomplish the most when under pressure. However, I definitely feel my best when I have spent just that couple extra minutes for me.

Anyone in?

  1. I've actually been taking the time to curl my hair lately (gasp!). I got a haircut a couple of weeks ago that isn't the best... if it's curly, no one notices! lol

HOWEVER we're having a baby this week!! :) So I can't promise anything regarding ponytails! :)

  2. Ponytail is my bail me out when i don't have time. So I'm taking the challenge. No ponytails this week, except when i go to the gym. I got to keep my hair out of my face. I agree though. I always feel better when my hair is done. Even if I'm staying home in jammies, I feel better about myself if the hair looks good! lol

  4. Im in! Once Gracie started Kindergarten, I now feel like I have to be ready so if at any moment they call from the school... I can go and pick her up. It really does make all the difference just to have your hair fixed. Have a fun week! ;) Good luck!

  6. I am in! :) In fact this morning I even dyed my hair! But I always feel more able to get things done when I do my hair. Also when I wear my shoes all day. I love being barefoot but when I have shoes on I seem to get to work! :)

  8. Well, I had been having 'ponytail days' for the last 2 months, so I decided it was time for a haircut. Now my hair is so short, it won't even FIT in a ponytail, so I have to do it every day. Feels good, though!

  10. I had to just laugh when I read your blog today. Especially since for the last week, I have just pulled my hair back and said that it "will work". LOL :) I am accepting this challenge!
Good luck with your house too!

  11. I've actually been doing this! I recently cut my hair really short, and ponytails simply aren't an option anymore. Neither is ignoring my hair and hoping it will look halfway decent on its own. So every time I wash my hair, I've been drying and styling my hair right away. It's great! I'm in - I'll keep right on styling my hair this week. :-)

  13. Yup. Sittin' here with my 2 day-old-messy-bun and am thinking I definitely need this challenge. Me and my birds-nest-bun are in.

On a side note, did you see Oprah yesterday? I rarely turn her on these days but happened to be cleaning up the bedroom and tuned in for a few minutes, only to get totally hooked. She was interviewing 3 girls who got drugged and molested repeatedly at neigborhood sleepovers and it TOTALLY made me think about that poll you took about whether we mommies will let our kids have sleepovers. I've definitley changed my mind after hearing these poor girls story.
