#3...... The Smell of Success

Most of you that read this have children. Cute, darling children. Smart children. Funny, loving children. Talented children.

SMELLY CHILDREN.

Of course, your time is spent doing all that is possible to make sure that they are not smelly 95% of the time.
It is that other 5% of the time that stays with us.

My house generally smells good. A burning candle, scentsy bar or potpourri can usually be detected. I think that even if my house is filthy, it should smell good.......

But, then there is me. My current "scent of choice" seems to be the sour milk variety. My 2 1/2 month old does not adhere to my strict spit standards. If you don't have a little one, I am guessing that you smell like some sort of cleaning product.
Cleaning products have come a long way in smelling good, but really, do you want to smell like a pine forest all the time?

We are constantly wiping things. Counter tops, floors, noses and bums. What do you smell like today? Heavenly lotion OR: Lysol wipes? Clorox wipes? Baby wipes? Or my all time favorite- a Kandoo wipe?

If you haven't guessed it already, the challenge is too smell good. NOT just to not stink, but to smell GOOD.
Put on your favorite perfume everyday. Twice a day even. Lather up with the best lotion you've got. Smell good around the clock.

There will be many benefits. When you smell good, you feel good. When you are wiping that behind, you can pull your shirt over your nose and be able to breathe. For me, hopefully the sour milk smell will be overpowered by something sweeter. And, who knows, maybe a little will rub off of me and my baby won't smell sour either!

Now, don't let the picture deceive you. I haven't bought anything new in years, but I obviously haven't used up any of the old either. Did you know that your perfume goes bad over time? Out of all of my bottles, 1 still smells the way it came from the store. Use it or lose it. Who cares if you are just home all day? Smell good for you!

Ok- go forth and spritz! Spray! Lather up. Seriously, you couldn't ask for an easier challenge. But, oh how good you will feel.

  1. YAY! One I can do! I shall spritz (or dab) before I conquer the much-needed housecleaning and smell like Pine-Sol, furniture polish, and Windex. Here I go!

  2. Now this is one I can handle! Last week's challenge killed me the first day--and I decided that this was one I was just going to have to fail. I still made attempts to do things here and there, but it was nowhere near perfect and certainly not as whole-hearted as I could have been...

YEAH for a new challenge. :)

  3. I can do this one--I have lots of lotion--everywhere lotion--lovely smelling lotion. I can do this one.

My challenge would be not having a bathroom that stinks--man 3 males in one bathroom--not pleasant--one is still in diapers, but he likes to be changed in the bathroom, standing up on the toliet.

  4. Last week my son pooped an average of EIGHT times for three days!!! I was sure my whole family and everything we owned smelled like poo... very stinky nasty poo. This is the perfect challenge for me! I think I'll wear a little Victora's Secret "Heavely" today. What are everyone's favorites? I'm on the prowl for something new!

  5. OK Camille, I know I already commented, but I just had to tell you what happened after I was last here: I went into the closet to do a little perfume-dab (have to keep it in the closet, away from prying Boys' little fingers). While I was in the closet, I thought, well, my clothes are in here, might as well get dressed. I grabbed some clothes and headed to the bathroom to change (couldn't just change in my bedroom; I'd already opened the blinds and was far too lazy to close them just to have to open them again). While in the bathroom, I thought, well, I'm here, I might as well do my make-up. Once that was done, I thought, well, that wasn't too bad, I might as well do my hair too! AAAH! See what you and your blog have done? You've turned a Jammy-Monster into a human again! I'm loving this...

  6. Yay! I'm excited about this one--and it's a challenge for me because I have allergies to most perfumes (like, it's hard to walk down the laundry detergent aisle). Maybe I'll dig my bottle of lemon essential oil out from under my bathroom sink. And my mom found some coconut salt scrub I can use. Anyone else know of things that smell good that aren't perfume-y?

  8. I'm in. I have quite a large collection of body sprays and lotions that rarely gets used and tends to collect dust. I will use them daily.

  10. This is one thing I already do daily. Why? Good question, but when I get dressed it is now a habit to go in and spritz myself with a little perfume and go on my way. With the smelly thing....how come after changing a poopy diaper my hands, no matter how many times I wash them, afterwards still smell like poo? And for that fact, my hand never even touched the poo!!! That I will never figure out! So I will join this challenge even though it's not really a challenge for me, but at least I can accomplish this one right?!

  12. kiddle97, you are my hero! I loved your comment and it got me really excited about this one! I just found this challenge, but this one I'm not so late for! By the way, Camille, did you know that our Grandpas were brothers? ;) Now, to find the box that may have something in it that smells good! Off I go!

  13. For "Bethany" - my dad is allergic to perfume and I never wore anything smelly until I moved out of the house. One trick my sisters and I used - we used to water down vanilla and spray it in our hair. I'm sure other extracts would work too. Hope this helps! And remember ladies, sometimes less is more! :)
